Happy Birthday!

We finally had a birthday party after having to cancel on Tesla's real
birthday due to her having the flu! It was a great day filled with balloons, cupcakes, family and a gorgeous sunset!

Waiting for everyone to get here!

Wow...I got a roll of toilet paper for my first birthday!

Her cousins are eager to help unwrap the presents!

Happy Birthday little one!

Getting Faster

Everyday Tesla gets faster and faster on those little legs. Here is a video that I got of her last night. I have to try and record her in secret otherwise she just wants the camcorder so she can chew on it.

Tesla is walking!!!

Last week she was busy with things like the laundry basket..........

Today she took 10 steps!! So far I have only been able to capture a few zombie steps on video. It is so much fun to see her learning and she is so excited by it too!

Thank Goodness for the Blog

I am feeling very grateful for our blog and the many photos that we have of Tesla on here. My laptop crashed and nothing is recoverable. That is where I had almost all our photos of Tesla. I am grieving the photos we lost but am happy that we have these. Here are a few from earlier this summer.

Chicago Summer of 2009!

In front of the Art Institute of Chicago

Tesla and I got to go to Chicago with Jenna and Willa last month. Jenna and I have talked for years about making a trip there together. She grew up there and her mom and Carl still live there. So we thought we better take a girls trip. Tesla and Willa did so well on the plane and playing together at Jenna's Mom's house.

Chicago is one of the most amazing and progressive cities for public art and sculpture. Millenium park is absolutely magnificent. You may have heard of "the bean" it is called Cloud Gate, simply beautiful. It rained on us most of the time but that didn't stop us from touring the artworks.

One of the largest works was this series of larger than life mummy like sculptures that were scattered across an entire park. They are so stark and intriguing!

Here are a few gorgeous photos that Jenna took. Thank you Jenna for your beautiful photography and cinematography!

The Buzz

Well we finally cut off Tesla's old man hair. She now looks like a fresh baby again!

Mom decided she needed a fresh look too! Jay got out the clippers and no more hair! Yea!

Easter in Salt Lake City

We visited Aunt Karris and Uncle Adam over Easter weekend in Salt Lake. It was gorgeous weather. We put the honey bee in her special dress that Aunt Marcy brought back from India especially for that day!

It was a little scratchy on the inside so we didn't leave it on too long. But it sure was cute!

We all took a lovely walk in the Botanical Gardens and Karris found a magic golden egg for Tesla!

Too much easter candy....just kidding! Ha!

Desert Calling

A couple of weeks ago we took a family hike in the Owyhee canyonlands to this sweet spot called Big Jacks Creek. We tried out the backpack with Tesla. It is her new favorite mode of travel!
