The Summer of No Commitments

Hagerman

The yurt we stay at in Hagerman

We have had so many wonderful adventures this summer. Unfortunately we frequently forget to take the camera. Here is a small taste of summer from us!

Hello Everyone! We are not the best bloggers as you all have figured out by now. We do look at everyones blog often and we all enjoy seeing your photos and hearing your stories.
There has been a lot of changes around our place in the last 6 months and I would assume that has been the case for many of you as well. It just seems that time and change are more rapid than ever and sometimes it takes all we have just to hang on! The ride is amazing and I am happy to be on it! This life and world continues to astonish and delight me at every turn. As many of you know, Marcy and Guy bought the house next door and we have transformed this place so quickly! We have literally torn down fences in more way than one! Just recently Karris and Adam moved from Salt Lake and are figuring out a way to get a house on our block as well. They are renting Mar and Guys old house for the time being but pretty much live here with the 5 of us. Adam has taken on the roll of documentarian and is photographing and filming all we do at the collective and beyond. The photo above is one he took a few weeks ago of us harvesting lettuce. He has also started a beautiful website where he is depositing his art for all to see. There are photo galleries and blogs. It is called concresence:

concrescence
[kənˈkrɛsəns]n (Life Sciences & Allied Applications / Biology) Biology a growing together of initially separate parts

Fitting isn't it!
Here is the link:
http://www.concrescence.us/

I hope that you all visit it regularly. Needless to say we will probably be posting here less and less. Love to you all!

Adam is in the house...

Literally. And I'm writing here, too.
Karris is wrapping up her semester in Utah, but I've already "moved" to Boise. Amy, Jay, and Birdie are taking care of me - so the least I can do is share some of the pics I have been taking. Most of these have gone out in emails to the sisters, but some others might be checking here.. I'll try to post regularly. -A

Little Helper

Tesla's new favorite activity is to stand on the step stool and watch me cook. She likes to be able to see the counter and I give her stuff to play with. We were making valentine sugar cookies when she got ahold of the beaters!!

Meal Club

Many of you know that Marcy and Guy, Jay and I and our friends Ava and Matt have been doing a dinner club. It has been going on for almost a year! We all love it. We used to call it Meals on Wheels, but now we call it Meals on Heels due to the fact that Marcy and Guy live next door and Ava and Matt live one street over and we can walk all the meals to each other. There are so many great recipes that have come out of this and instead of trying to write them down for each other we decided to start a blog! You can find the link on the side bar. So we post our favorite dishes to share with each other and with you!
Can't decide what to make for Dinner???
Stop by the blog, use the recipes and make comments/suggestions.
Good food nourishes the body, then the mind and then the spirit! It is worth it to eat well!

Happy Birthday!

We finally had a birthday party after having to cancel on Tesla's real
birthday due to her having the flu! It was a great day filled with balloons, cupcakes, family and a gorgeous sunset!

Waiting for everyone to get here!

Wow...I got a roll of toilet paper for my first birthday!

Her cousins are eager to help unwrap the presents!

Happy Birthday little one!
